3 Ring Circus presents
its 3rd annual themed "open call" multi-media exhibit
this year’s theme:
ROCK & ROLL
For the 3rd year in a row, 3 Ring
Circus has invited artists, writers, filmmakers, bands, poets, comedians and
theater troupes to submit entries which comment on a certain theme. Last year was "Money" on September 11th. In 2003, the theme was "Hair" coinciding
with the 3 Ring Circus production "HAIRBALL" at Tipitinas. This year, the show falling in the month of
April, the month of music, with the French Quarter Festival and the Jazz Fest, the
theme is music related: ROCK & ROLL.
Artists have been asked to show in their
work, what rock & roll means to them - physically, psychologically,
personally, musically and politically. The
twenty submissions will be judged and voted on by a distinguished jury, including,
among others, Rio Hackford of One Eyed Jacks.
The entries will be on display in a visual art show in The Big Top Gallery
from April 2 , 30, 2005, with an opening
party on Saturday, April 2, from 6:00 pm to midnight with complimentary
food by K&G Party Services and a live music finale by Narcissy.
